Gargoyles #8 Cover

The cover for Gargoyles #8 has been released on GargWiki.
Here it is!:

I have to admit, I was a little unsure as to whether David Hedgecock's covers would look as great as Greg Guler's. Well, I have one thing to say about David Hedgecock's work on this cover: It is probably the most dynamic and exciting cover so far. I hope that the fans who aren't too happy with David's work will at least respect this incredible cover, his artwork looks great. Jorge Molina's colors are fantastic, and work incredibly well with Hedgecock's art.

Also, the fact that the cover was released pretty much solidifies the fact that G#8 will be released tomorrow, the last cover image was also released the day before #7 came out.

New Update from Greg

Greg included an update on the comics schedule today in a response to questions I asked him. You can see the post here.

Here's the important info:

Gargoyles #8 - should be coming out tomorrow, March 26.

Bad Guys #2 - since both G#8 and BG#2 were sent to Disney for approval at the same time, we know that this has been approved and should come out next month.

Gargoyles #9 -
fully roughed and being pencilled by David Hedgecock.

Bad Guys #3 -
complete, a preview of guest artist Christopher Jones' work can be viewed below.

Gargoyles #10 -
fully scripted

Bad Guys #4 -
fully roughed and being pencilled and inked by Karine Charlebois.

Red Tornado #2 -
being scripted

Bad Guys #5 -
will be scripted after RT#2

Things look like they're shaping up nicely, both BG#2 and #3 being finished will hopefully provide enough time so that the series can stay on schedule until it ends with #6.

Gargoyles #8 Out Tomorrow?...

It appears that Gargoyles #8 will be released tomorrow, as it still says on Diamond's new release list. Hopefully we'll have confirmation of this over at Ask Greg, either later today or early tomorrow. Be sure to check with your local comic book stores, and make sure to pick up a copy!

Without further ado:

Beware of spoilers!

Bad Guys #3, entitled "Estranged," deals with Hunter a.k.a. Robyn Canmore and her relationship with her brothers, one of which is now using the alias John Castaway, and heading the Quarrymen.

Enjoy the preview, and for pete's sake, please leave some damn comments! ;)

Comic Cover Previews

As a way of holding us over until Gargoyles #8 comes out (which, according to Diamond Comics upcoming release list, should be on March 26th, a week from Wednesday, but don't get your hopes up just yet, cause there's no word from Greg whether Disney has approved it or not...) here are some unfinished covers to Gargoyles #10 and #11, and Bad Guys #3. It appears that G#10 and 11 will both be illustrated by David Hedgecock.

Hedgecock also illustrated the cover to #8, for which a preview has not been released. I'm a fan of his work, although it admittedly does take some getting used to. Personally, I will miss seeing Greg Guler's work on these covers.

Anyway, here they are:

The preview cover for Bad Guys #2 has been out for a while now, and is simply a rehashing of the background for BG#1 with simple artwork for Yama replacing the artwork for Matrix, so I haven't included that in this preview. The cover for Bad Guys #4 can currently be seen as the "Picture of the Month," which is why I'm not including that in the preview as well.

So, what do you guys think of the covers? Personally, I think BG#3 looks the most interesting, but I'm assuming the other two are mostly just early inducement images, hopefully they'll be more interesting by the time the issues come out.

License Renewal

Great news! Greg, in response to a question on whether the Gargoyles license will be renewed, has said:

"Dan [Vado] has told me he'd like to renew it. He was, as of WonderCon, waiting on Disney to respond."

This bodes really well for the series, hopefully Disney doesn't screw things up. WonderCon took place from February 22-24, so hopefully we'll have an update on Disney's decision soon.
